Okay, so I recently took a week off of school, in order to go down to visit my father. He lives in New Orleans, Louisiana. I hadn’t seen him in five years. The last time we had seen one another, he had blown up on both my brother and I, saying that he wanted us to forget that we ever had a father. He was very selfish in the past. My brother and I were very, nervous to say the least to go down and see him. We had no idea what to expect. The trip ended up going very well. My father has changed so much in the past five years. He pulled me aside to talk for a few hours. Basically, his whole speech was about how he has changed and how his new wife has changed him for the better. She is religious, smart, and very kind. She seemed like one of those very Christian qualitied people that will do absolutely anything for anybody else but themselves and want nothing in return. I think having my father married to her for the past year has changed his mind set and how to go about life and his actions. I think one of my favorite parts about going down to visit my father was when we went to a bar to play billiards. This was a very fond memory from my past that I knew about my father. I knew that he loved playing billiards and my brother and I also love to play too. Just that moment when I realized that what was happening was real and that I was with my father and enjoying that moment with him. I didn’t want that to end. I wanted to play pool with him all night. I wanted the father-son bonding to continue for a lifetime and for that I’ll continue later.
